Specification of Twin-Screw Extruders for Compounding Applications

This webinar focuses on determining the size (e.g. diameter) of a twin-screw extruder to achieve a desired capacity target as a function of available motor power.

Typical compounding applications are used to identify capacity limits versus screw diameter including the number of side feeders required. The second part of the presentation focuses on how to determine the proper length of extruder (L/D) necessary to produce the desired compound properties. This webinar is designed to determine the maximum theoretical output for a given machine specification, as an example, for plant expansion projects.
