Strand Die Design

Strand die design is an often neglected part of the compounding process, it is viewed simply as ‘something to hold the die plate onto the extruder’.

Poor die design results in differential pressure across the die plate that leads to pelletizing problems, dropped strands and overall inconsistent pellet quality. This webinar introduces fundamental strand die design criteria and demonstrates the use of computer flow modeling to optimize such designs.
